We’re leaving Australia on March 21, heading to Toronto, Canada, for a few days on a family matter, then down to Dallas, Texas. From there, we’ll pick up a rental car and head west. You can see the circuit on the map below, over 3,000 miles. The only hiccup may be if we hit winter snow storms, in which case we may have to alter our route. Along the way, we’ll visit friends and meet an extended cousin I didn’t even know I had.
We’ll be back in Dallas on April 8, weather cooperating, viewing a total eclipse of the sun in the early afternoon. The time of totality will be just under 4 minutes, which is unusually long. We’re counting on the weather cooperating.
We’ll also visit friends in Dallas before hitting the road for unknown parts because we’ll be chasing storms, specifically tornadoes. With our own radar and satellite feed, we will no doubt cover much more territory.
The final leg of our trip is to Fiji, and we will be spending several days on the resort island of Toberua, which is five acres in size. There’s not much to do there except for snorkelling and kayaking. This will be a respite from our frenetic pace in America.
Thank you Jake. We should be in Oklahoma.
Have a great trip, hope to see you!! Love and special memories, Jake
